First Holy Communion
We have two programs at Holy Cross that help to prepare the children and youth to receive their first holy communion:
Family Catechesis on Mondays and Tuesdays and RCIC:
On Mondays and Tuesdays, we hold classes for children who are in the 1st and 2nd grade—typically ages 6–8.
Come & See on Sundays. On Sundays we hold classes for children and youth who are in 3rd grade -11th grade – ages 10-17
Both programs are a 2 year preparation for the sacrament of Holy Communion.
The children are assed throughout the year to see if they are adequately prepared, meaning they have an understanding of the sacrament they are seeking. Class attendance and mass attendance is very important. Registration for the programs takes place at the end of May, June, and July – the programs runs from August to May.
