ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
Boys and girls, ten and older, registered as members of Holy Cross Catholic Community may be altar servers.
“… Yo estoy entre vosotros como el que sirve” (Lucas 22:27).
Como verdaderos discípulos de Jesús, nosotros también debemos servir a los demás. El servicio es prestar asistencia a quienes necesitan ayuda.
ALTAR SERVERS
Altar Server is one of the liturgical ministers of our parish and have special tasks to perform during the liturgies, especially during the celebration of the Eucharist at mass. Serving at mass will involve learning some new words and terms. You will also be asked to perform some very specific duties. It is important to realize that you are serving God in helping with prayers and with the Eucharist.
To be an altar server is an honor and a privilege.
THE SERVER MUST
- Have received the Sacrament of the First Holy Communion
- Attend Mass on a regular basis.
- Complete an Altar Server Orientation and Training Session
